STATION

The town of Roxbury Station was centered around the iconic 1872 train station, which was part of the Shepaug Valley Railroad that connected Litchfield County to New York City. The rail link accommodated passengers as well as shipping granite and steel from Mine Hill, lumber, grains and cigars manufactured on site here to a wider market. The train line was closed in the 1940’s and the Station fell into disrepair until it was purchased in 2015 as part of the complex that became Mine Hill Distillery. After a 3 year renovation, the property received the Historic Preservation Award for the State. Today, the Station acts as a tasting room as well as a venue for events throughout the year.
